-Make sure the company is capable of handling and managing your project.

On this front, we first advise you to make sure you understand the provider’s business model. It is very common (and a frequently complaint) that outsourcing companies sell a service without guaranteeing it once it has started. For example, you pay for 30 hours of development a week; the company might give you those 30 hours but, not on regular business days for you, they might do it on the weekends. That is just a very simple example, but common and painful to experience.

Always try getting a company profile, references from local companies that have used the provider’s services and a service level agreement (SLA) before hand.

In C-technologies, we do not engage in a project without proper Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and Contract Service Agreement. We also provide our potential clients with rates, plans and pay terms.

-Ownership of code and deliverable products.

For some reason, establishing a software provider/client relationship might become sour or a legal issue. People might think that because of the fact that both parties are foreign companies,  legal paperwork can be disregarded; that is completely false. Securing a good relationship is peace of mind for both parties, there are always loopholes that either company can take advantage of at any point if no clear relationship is written down. As a heads-up, you should not start a business relationship with a company that won't sign a contract or an agreement to start working. In C-Technologies, we have learn from experience, the only client that has ever refused to physically sign an agreement with us has been at fault on payments and managing the time for a full-time team assigned. The agreement must be very clear on whos the owner of the code, specially when third party companies are involved; I.E. the client hires an outsourcing company to provide services for it's clients, end-client has no idea about the outsourcing company. Is the end company entitled as the owner of the code if the agreement amongst the client and the outsourcing company does not specify it? or worse, if there is no agreement at all?

-Cost of engagement

This is a common term in the outsourcing industry, how much will it cost to actually start developing my software outsourced? what does that implies to me as a client?

Let's say you are looking for a company to outsource a medical insurance application in .Net. Does the outsourcing provider has the specific required medical knowledge? Will I need to send some one or bring the team for training? how often will face to face interaction is required? Which version of Visual Studio is needed? if the provider doesn't have the correct version, will I provide a license to them? is that included on the service? What happens when rework is required?

Many questions arise when looking to outsource your software projects, this is merely food for thought. At C-Technologies we are proud to be long-term software providers for our clients, it all started as a simple project, but due to dedication and specialization, we are no longer providers but instead partners. Partnering with our clients has been a key aspect when growing the business. Our clients have recommended us and are happy the way we work.

C-Technologies has successfully proven delivery of services to outsourcing first timers, clients who have experienced with traditional outsourcing destinations such as India and now are looking for a better option and clients that that are comparing among Mexico and traditional destinations.

Whatever your reason is to outsource your software development needs, C-Technologies is the nearshore outsourcing perfect trifecta.

If you are already outsourcing, what are your experiences? if you are still not, why don't you give it a try with us?
